A US-China partial trade deal could be in sight: ASX set to open higher

10 Oct 2019 - Following positive leads from US markets, the ASX looks set to open higher this morning. In the US the Federal Reserve released the minutes from its September meeting. In other news, Turkey has begun a military offensive into Syria just days after President Donald Trump said the US wouldn’t stand in the way. The Afterpay Touch Group (ASX:APT) reported yesterday that former US treasury secretary Lawrence Summers will join its advisory board.

Clinuvel shares sky rocket after FDA approval: ASX closes 0.7% lower

09 Oct 2019 - It has been a disappointing day of trade for the ASX, closing 0.7% lower. Shares in biopharmaceutical company Clinuvel (ASX:CUV) did well today – they are at an all time high. Flight Centre (ASX:FLT) shares declined though as did News Corp (ASX:NWS). As for the sectors, the best performing sector was Communication Services while the worst performing sector was Consumer Discretionary.

Flight Centre shares fall on challenging H1 predictions: ASX 0.8% lower at noon

09 Oct 2019 - The ASX opened lower following soft leads from Wall Street and is now tracking 0.8% lower at noon. Cleanaway Waste Management (ASX:CWY) shares shot up after becoming the successful bidder for the acquisition of the assets of the SKM Recycling Group. Flight Centre Travel Group (ASX:FLT) saw their shares drop almost 10% this morning after they released their likely outcomes for financial year 2020 patterns.

China-US trade talks lose optimism: ASX poised to open lower

09 Oct 2019 - Following negative leads from US markets, the ASX looks set to open lower this morning. Wall Street took a negative turn yesterday as investor optimism around the US-China trade talks took a dip. And one of the directors of the Afterpay Touch Group (ASX:APT) David Hancock has resigned.
