Extreme lockdown begins for South Australia: ASX poised to open lower

19 Nov 2020 - The ASX looks set to fall at the open this morning. The Dow saw a second day of losses. South Australia’s six-day restrictions have now come into force after a new and highly-infectious strain of coronavirus was brought in from the UK. All schools and construction sites have been closed and people must wear masks outside. Oil Search (ASX:OSH) has increased resources within their Alaskan portfolio.

Financial sector boosts market: ASX closes 0.5% higher

18 Nov 2020 - It has been a positive day of trade for the Australian share market. The local bourse managed to close 0.5% higher. Financials was the sector that performed the best today with Commbank (ASX:CBA) leading the gains. Dexus (ASX:DXS) has conditionally exchanged contracts to sell a 50% interest in Grosvenor Place, Sydney.

18 Nov 2020 - The ASX rose at the open and is now tracking 0.4% higher at noon. Shares in Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (ASX:URW) are continuing to do well but shares in the A2 Milk Company (ASX:A2M) slip after they maintained its lowered September guidance. Decmil Group Limited (ASX:DCG) been awarded approximately $51 million in works as part of the balance of plant contract at the Ryan Corner Windfarm in Victoria.

18 Nov 2020 - The ASX looks set to open higher this morning despite fresh lockdowns and restrictions as Covid-19 infections rise in some countries. NSW residents are now being advised to delay non-essential travel to South Australia, following a Covid-19 outbreak in the state. Perpetual Limited (ASX:PPT) has successfully completed its acquisition of a 75% interest in US-based investment management business, Barrow, Hanley, Mewhinney & Strauss.

Two IPO’s are currently performing well, Native Mineral Resources Holdings Limited (ASX:NMR) and Universal Store Holdings Limited – (ASX:UNI) after a false start yesterday.
