Miners took a hit today with BHP (ASX:BHP) weighing on the market: ASX closed 0.8% higher

10 Jan 2020 - It has been a positive day of trade for the ASX for the end of the week with the local bourse managing to close 0.8% higher. Evolution Mining (ASX:EVN) saw their shares fall after they downgraded their production guidance for its Mt Carlton operation. IMF Bentham (ASX:IMF) expects to receive approximately €4.8 million in FY20 from an Omni Bridgeway European recovery mandate investment.

Black Friday sales lift retail turnover 0.9%: ASX tracking 0.6% higher at noon

10 Jan 2020 - The ASX rose at the open and managed to maintain momentum and is now tracking 0.6% higher at noon. Vocus Group (ASX:VOC) shares saw a rise today as did Domain Holdings (ASX:DHG). SeaLink Travel Group (ASX:SLK) reports significant damage has been sustained to the SeaLink owned Vivonne Bay Lodge on Kangaroo Island as a result of recent bush fires.

Gold and oil fall as Trump eases Middle East tensions: ASX poised to open higher

09 Jan 2020 - Following positive leads from US markets, the ASX looks set to open higher this morning. On the commodities front, Gold and oil fell as Middle East tensions eased. In other Apple shares surged to a record high after App Store customers spent $2 billion between Christmas and New Year's Eve. Shares in Polynovo (ASX:PNV) took a drip despite earlier this week reporting they have hit their first two million dollar month. Monadelphous Group (ASX:MND) has successfully secured new and extension contracts worth a total value of $110 million.
