Australian dollar lifts on the last day of the year: ASX closes 1.8% lower

31 Dec 2019 - The ASX took a dip at the open and failed to gather any ground closing 1.8% lower. All sectors are in the red - the sector with the least losses was Materials sector with Gold Road Resources (ASX:GOR), Resolute (ASX:RSG) and Saracen Mineral Holdings (ASX:SAR) all making gains today. GrainCorp (ASX:GNC) today announced that the sale of its Australian Bulk Liquid Terminals business to ANZ Terminals Pty has completed.

Final trading day of the year: ASX poised to open lower

31 Dec 2019 - It’s the last day of trading for 2019 and Australian shares are set to open lower. Over in the US stocks fell on light trading. The S&P 500 fell the most in more than three weeks. Tech shares saw falls with Facebook and Amazon among the biggest decliners. Treasury Wine Estates (ASX:TWE) is set to say goodbye to Fiona Last their Company Secretary.

BOQ raises $89.7M via share purchase plan: Aus shares 0.7% lower at noon

30 Dec 2019 - The Australian share market opened slightly lower this morning and lost ground over the first 2 hours of trade. This comes despite positive leads from US markets. Every sector has made losses this morning with Industrials weighing heaviest on the market. The Bank of Queensland (ASX:BOQ) has successful completed a share purchase plan to raise approximately $89.7 million.

Wall Street boosts on record e-commerce sales: Aus shares to open lower

30 Dec 2019 - The SPI is pointing to a fall at the open, despite positive leads on Friday from the US. The Dow Jones Industrial Average and the broader S&P 500 edged to fresh record highs on Friday however, the tech-heavy Nasdaq snapped its 11-day winning streak. Drug delivery company SUDA Pharmaceuticals (ASX:SUD) has unsuccessfully appealed the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration’s decision to deny marketing approval for its ArTiMist 6 product.

Silver Lake (ASX:SLR) and Gold Road (ASX:GOR) both see gains: ASX closes 0.4% higher

27 Dec 2019 - It has been a positive day of trade for the ASX back after its two day Christmas break managing to close 0.4% higher. Materials was the best sector today with Silver Lake Resources (ASX:SLR) and Gold Road Resources (ASX:GOR) both seeing gains. Shares in Ausnet (ASX:AST) fell today. Zip Co (ASX:Z1P) says its Share Purchase Plan announced to the market on 29 November and 2 December 2019 closed on 20 December 2019.

Materials sector on the up: ASX tracking 0.2% higher at noon

27 Dec 2019 - The ASX rose at the open and after a dip in early trade is now tracking 0.2% higher at noon. Shares in Resolute Mining (ASX:RSG) and Jumbo Interactive (ASX:JIN) are on the up as shares in Ausnet (ASX:AST) falter. Yellow Brick Road Holdings Limited (ASX:YBR) announces that it has today entered into a sale agreement and strategic alliance with Sequoia Financial Group (ASX:SEQ).

Wall Street rises after Christmas break: ASX to open lower

27 Dec 2019 - The ASX unfortunately is looking to take a dip after its break although Wall Street saw some movement in the opposite direction rising up in overnight trade. Wall Street is still optimistic over the signing of the US 'phase one' trade deal. Telix Pharmaceuticals (ASX:TLX), has submitted a complete clinical briefing package to the US FDA for its first product TLX591-CDx1.

No Santa rally this Christmas Eve: ASX closes 0.1% higher

24 Dec 2019 - It was a shorter day for the ASX this Christmas Eve with a mostly positive day of trade, the local bourse managed to close 0.1% higher. Gold Road (ASX:GOR) and Silver Lake Resources (ASX:SLR) saw rises today as Vocus (ASX:VOC) and Elders (ASX:ELD) fell lower. Altura Mining (ASX:AJM) has revised its production guidance for the December quarter following changes to maintenance schedules.

Boeing shares rise as CEO is ousted: ASX set to open flat

24 Dec 2019 - Following positive leads from US markets, the ASX looks set to open flat. There was light trading in the US as people enjoy their Christmas break as US stocks edged to fresh highs. The S&P 500 gained for the eighth time in nine sessions, another all-time high after China said it cut tariffs. Shares in Boeing surged after Chief Executive Officer Dennis Muilenburg was ousted. Resolute Mining (ASX:RSG) strengthens US$ gold hedge book.
