UK polls to determine Brexit approach: Aus shares to open higher

13 Dec 2019 - The Australian share market is poised to open higher following positive leads from the US. Wall Street surged to fresh record highs overnight on news that US negotiators have reached the terms of a phase-one trade deal with China. The deal is now subject to President Donald Trump’s approval. Fuel distributor Z Energy (ASX:ZEL) has downgraded its EBITDAF earnings guidance for the 2020 financial year.

All four banks weigh on the market: The ASX closed 0.7% lower

12 Dec 2019 - The ASX took a dip at the open and failed to gain momentum throughout the day, closing 0.7% lower. Westpac (ASX:WBC) shares dropped today after its annual general meeting, the other three banks also took a hit weighing on the market. 12 Dec 2019 - It has been a positive day of trade for the ASX the local bourse managed to close 0.7% higher after a strong afternoon rally. Webjet (ASX:WEB) rose almost 10% after dismissing media speculation that it was a takeover target. IMF Betham (ASX:IMF) reports that the Federal Court of Australia has approved the deed of settlement in the Forge securities class action.
