Declines led by miners: ASX closed 0.5% lower

26 Sep 2019 - The ASX took a dip in early morning trade after opening higher and failed to gain momentum to close 0.5% lower. Miners took a hit today with Silver Lake Resources (ASX:SLR) down over 5 per cent, shares in Gold Road Resources (ASX:GOR), Northern Star Resources (ASX:NST), and Newcrest Mining (ASX:NCM) also slid. IMF Bentham (ASX:IMF) is expecting a $30.5m boost after the Supreme Court of New South Wales judged in favour of its client.

Job vacancies fall for the first time in years: ASX tracking 0.2% lower at noon

26 Sep 2019 - The ASX opened higher then fell after early morning trade and is now tracking 0.2% lower at noon. Newcrest (ASX:NCM) shares dropped today after they reported RC drilling had started at the Tanami region of WA. Sezzle (ASX:SZL) is now available to online businesses worldwide through Visa’s CyberSource payment management platform.

Fonterra post net loss of $605m: ASX set to open higher

26 Sep 2019 - Following positive leads from US markets, the ASX looks set to open higher this morning. The S&P 500 slowed a three-day slide helped by tech and banks. As Trump's impeachment drama continues, he suggested a trade deal with China was possible and also looked into a pact with Japan. Diary giant Fonterra (ASX:FSF) has posted a net loss after tax of $605 million for the July year, slightly better than expected.

Afterpay shares higher after AUSTRAC update: ASX tracking 0.6% lower

25 Sep 2019 - The ASX dropped at the open and continues to shuffle along, tracking 0.6% lower at noon. Afterpay Touch Group (ASX:APT) shares have shot up today after they updated the market in relation to their Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing matters by providing an interim report to AUSTRAC. Strike Energy (ASX:STX) reports Neville Power has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director and Deputy Chairman of the company.
